About the makapu
Makapu is an original and limited collection of concrete reliefs. Each mould can produce only a small number of concrete castings. Each relief is different and unique. They may vary in colour, but also in finishing technique. Some of the reliefs are gilded with genuine 12 karat gold leaf, others are "decorated" with silver leaf or partially spray-painted.
I experiment with colour and approach each relief as a distinct piece of art, and no two reliefs are exactly the same. Reliefs that are left in their concrete nakedness are unique too, as the actual concrete finish of two pieces is never the same. My concrete mix is a result of years of experience with this amazing and mallable material. Makapu concrete is of high quality and very stable. Makapu is for life.
There are two sturdy hanging systems on the back of each relief. These are directly embedded inside the relief, so there is no risk of the hook breaking off. There is also an original makapu mark on the back including the year the relief was made. Working on reliefs gives me great pleasure. This collection reflects my love for classical sculpture and graphic art and years of experience in interior design.
I hope these reliefs of mine will bring joy and an original one-of-a-kind original piece to your home, office or other space. If you are interested in Makapu, please contact me for more information, including logistics and installation.

How to take care of a Makapu ?
There is no need to take any additional special care of this concrete piece of art. It is not advisable to wash or polish the relief in any way. On the contrary, it could damage it. The surface of reliefs is treated with wax and other techniques are used to protect it. If dusting, use a dry duster. As for a gold leaf Makapu, I do not recommend touching the surface of the relief, unless it can't be avoided. Salt in the sweat of human hands can tarnish the gold.
The weight of a 100 x 70 x 2.5 cm relief is approximately 30 kg. It is advisable to think in advance which wall you will hang the relief on. These reliefs are heavier than a conventional painting, therefore you need to use dowels and a countersunk screw (hook) to hang a concrete relief. All materials used in production of the concrete relief and for the surface treatment are non-toxic and non-hazardous.
